The Benebone Wishbone lives up to its reputation as a go-to chew toy for aggressive chewers. Made with tough nylon and infused with real bacon flavor, this USA-made toy definitely grabs dogs’ attention and keeps them occupied for extended periods.
What works well: The curved wishbone shape makes it easy for dogs to grip and hold – a thoughtful design since dogs don’t have thumbs. The real bacon flavoring is a hit with most dogs, and unlike many chew toys, it doesn’t create any unpleasant smell for humans. For power chewers who destroy other toys within minutes, this one actually lasts weeks.
Important considerations: This is a hard chew that requires dogs to have strong, healthy teeth. You’ll need to monitor for wear and replace it at the first sign of reasonable wear, such as deep teeth marks or cracks. Also note that it’s made in a facility that processes nuts, so avoid if anyone in your household has nut allergies.
Bottom line: If you have a determined chewer who goes through toys quickly, this is worth trying. Just make sure your dog can handle hard chews and keep an eye on wear patterns for safety.
